![]() ![]() Believer or not, Gay or straight, this author has something valuable to say and it's quick read is well worth the time it takes to listen. It's a must read wherever you are in your faith. This book pointed me to Christ and what He has done to transform all sinners into saints. ![]() This book defined Womanhood in a beautiful gospel-driven way. This book simply is her story weaved with scripture and the truth of Who God really is and What He has done for all of us. This is the testimony of author, teacher, and poet/rapper Jackie Hill Perry. Jackie Hill Perry is blazing a new trail for transparent, theologically sound, female leaders on the Christian circuit with her first book, Gay Girl, Good God: The Story of Who I Was and Who God Has Always Been (B&H, 2018). As a heterosexual long time Christian I didn't want to get "yelled at" for all of the idiotic ways Christians have sinned against, mis-represented the Bible and Jesus to their Gay neighbors and I was terrified also that the author (one I am familiar with hearing from through various conferences and speaking engagements) would suddenly say something that would make me confused or doubtful about what the Bible says and Who God is. The Story of Who I Was, and Who God Has Always Been. Honestly, I was scared to listen to this one. ![]()

There is a convention that page numbers always start with an odd number on the right. ![]() Given the title, is the implication that people today-at least in the more advanced, “postindustrial” countries-are more strategic and inauthentic in their interactions than in the past?Īctually another way the book is unconventional in form is the page numbering. It’s two short paragraphs long, and identifies pragmatic reasons people do and say what they do. The book starts off unconventional in form with its first “story,” A Radically Condensed History of Postindustrial Life, which I would say is more of an epigraph than anything. ![]() I’ll refer to them as “stories” or “chapters” or whatever below, with the understanding that no term really fully fits. ![]() Brief Interviews with Hideous Men I suppose can be considered a collection of short stories, but most of its contents are weird David Foster Wallace postmodern things that aren’t really “stories.” Short “writings” perhaps? ![]() ![]() Sometimes we may ship your order in several parts, particularly if you have 'Pre-Order' titles in your order or titles which are held in stock with our publishing partners.
